dc.descriptionWith globalization, the world has undergone profound transformations across various sectors, including the accounting field. Among the innovations impacting the area, artificial intelligence (AI) stands out, which, although initially met with skepticism, shows great potential for contribution. This study aims to demystify the role of AI in accounting routines, demonstrating that its purpose is not to replace accounting professionals, but to support them in activities such as fraud detection and cost reduction. The methodology employed involved a survey of professionals in the accounting field to understand their perceptions regarding the use of AI in the profession. The results indicate that, despite the possible replacement of some functions and the need for continuous professional development, most respondents recognize the strategic benefits brought by AI. It is concluded that there is an optimistic outlook for the future of the profession, where the integration between human experience and artificial intelligence becomes essential for success.
dc.description.abstractCom a globalização, o mundo passou por profundas transformações em diversos setores, inclusive no campo contábil. Dentre as inovações que impactam a área, destaca-se a inteligência artificial (IA), que, embora inicialmente cause estranhamento, apresenta grande potencial de contribuição. Este trabalho tem como objetivo desmitificar o papel da IA nas rotinas contábeis, demonstrando que seu propósito não é substituir o profissional da contabilidade, mas apoiá-lo em atividades como a detecção de fraudes e a redução de custos operacionais. A metodologia adotada foi a pesquisa com profissionais da área contábil, a fim de compreender suas percepções sobre o uso da IA no contexto da profissão. Os resultados indicam que, apesar da possibilidade de substituição de algumas funções e da necessidade de atualização contínua, a maioria dos respondentes reconhece os benefícios estratégicos proporcionados pela IA. Conclui-se que há uma perspectiva otimista quanto ao futuro da profissão, em que a integração entre a experiência humana e as capacidades da inteligência artificial se torna essencial para o sucesso.
