Item ALTERNATIVAS À PRISÃO: ANÁLISE PSICOLÓGICA DO CONDENADO NA OBRA ESTAÇÃO CARANDIRU DE DRAUZIO VARELLA(2024-11-09) ANA BEATRIZ SANTANA BRAGAIt is known that the Brazilian prison system presents degrading conditions for inmates and that they experience traumatic experiences in this place. Therefore, a deep understanding of the prison environment becomes necessary, considering the psychological needs of inmates and the gaps in the criminal justice systems. In this sense, the objective of this work is to investigate the alternatives to prison, through the psychological analysis of the inmate, based on the narrative of Estação Carandiru by Drauzio Varella. Regarding the methodology of the research project, in terms of nature, the research carried out was Basic-Applied, theoretically addressing the Brazilian Prison System and also through a practical view, through a qualitative approach, a content analysis of the work Estação Carandiru was carried out. As for the method, the inductive view was also used, which addressed the Brazilian Prison Systemspecifically through the analysis of the aforementioned work. Thus, the research procedure was delimited to the following approaches: bibliographic, using books, articles, dissertations and theses; doctrinal, criminal doctrines, capturing the doctrinaire's view of the system; and historical, in light of the research carried out on the historical massacre reported in the book. With this, it was observed that the traumatic experiences lived by the inmates, as described in the book, play a crucial role in their criminal behavior and in the difficulty of reintegrating into society. Thus, it is concluded that resocialization programs that prioritize psychological support, education and professional training can offer a more effective approach to reduce criminal recidivism and promote successful reintegration of individuals into the community.
